Happy Birthday, Legally Charming Style!!

It's been a month and a week since I last gave y'all anything, which is...wow. Wow. Way too long. But I think today is a perfect day to get back in it, because guess what???

Legally Charming Style is officially a year old today!

That's right folks. I started the Legally Charming Style blog one year ago today. It's hard to believe. I came into this blog with the intent to show off my fashion and have some fun. I wanted to have a creative outlet during law school, and I got complimented on my outfits anyway, so...why not, right?

I have learned a lot about the blogging game in the last year. Things do not come easily in this world. You don't just garner invitations to events, or sponsored posts, or get free stuff all the time. It's hard work--it's a full-time job if you want to do the blogger thing for real. Giveaways, hashtags, well-timed outfit posts, witty comments on your blog entries...all of the above are needed, plus a lot of time, effort, and business savvy. I respect women who do this full time, I'll tell you. It's hard work, whether or not anyone wants to acknowledge it outside the blogging world.

A year ago I posted two pictures in my blog to start this little adventure:

It's so interesting to see how much my style has changed in the last year (doubtlessly influenced by Instagram fashioninstas everywhere). I have bought red dresses and palm print shorts; worn a Canadian tuxedo; donned a floral hat; and paired navy with black. But it's funny-I still own and wear every piece in that outfit, too. I probably wouldn't wear them all together again, but it's amazing how so much can change...and how much stays the same.

Thank you for all of your love and support over the last year-it means the world.

In the meantime, here's a new outfit (with a red dress, of course). And here's to another year of fashion blogging and many more lessons along the way!
